Police have opened an inquest docket following the drowning of a seven-year-old girl in a dam in Lusikisiki on Monday, October 3.
According to police spokesperson, Sergeant Kaya Matola-Mvanyashe, it is alleged that at about 07:30 the minor went swimming with her friends at a nearby dam in France locality.
“While swimming she subsequently drowned. Due to the shock, her friends then went home and told the family that two unknown men had taken her. Following some probing they admitted that she had drowned. Police recovered her body at about 11:00 the same day,” said Matola-Mvanyashe.
“No foul play is suspected. The investigations continue.”
