Mnya Sport Academy has received brand new kit from service provider, Vodacom.
The company intervention came at the right time as the academy was seeking donations as it is made up of predominantly disadvantaged players from rural areas.
Mnya Sport Academy was founded by passionate sports enthusiast and businessman, Mnyamezeli Madolo, in 2018.
Since its establishment, the Academy has managed to attract a number of rural children.
Last season, which ended two weeks ago, Mnya Academy finished in fifth position in the SAB Inland Stream, with their last game played against Mighty Eagles FC, at Rotary Stadium.
While receiving the kit from Vodacom last week, the academy president, Madolo, made it clear that their intention for next season was to move up to the ABC Motsepe League, but admitted that it was not going to be an easy task.
Madolo mentioned that changes were expected to take place in the technical team, as they are gearing up for next season.
“On behalf of Mnya Sport Academy, we really appreciate this kit donation and we are targeting sharpening the kids’ future through (participation in) sport.
“The kit will assist us as we are gearing up for the next season,” he said.
Madolo also said that they were in discussions with Kaizer Chiefs’ MDC team and are hoping to bring the team (Kaizer Chiefs) to play in their annual tournament in Libode.
Last month, Chippa United’s MDC team visited the academy and competed in their annual soccer tournament.
