Alfred Nzo District Municipality Executive Mayor, Councillor Vukile Mhlelembana, accompanied by Ntabankulu Local Municipality Mayor, Councillor Tsileng Sobuthongo, visited the Ntabankulu Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) to assess its operations.
The assessment came ahead of two engagement sessions with Ntabankulu ratepayers to reflect, address and focus on some of the critical challenges and strides facing ratepayers.
“I appreciate the invitation to participate in the meeting and it highlighted that his administration was committed to ensuring efficient service delivery for all the people of the Alfred Nzo district,” said Mhlelembana.
He also noted that, going forward, in all such stakeholder engagements and meetings with the public and ratepayers, the responsible managers and officials would be present to directly respond to any issues that were raised by the people.
Sobuthongo encouraged ratepayers to ensure that they paid their rates in order for the municipality to continue providing quality services. She lamented the huge debts owed to the municipality by both businesses and residents alike, highlighting the stress this caused on service delivery.
