The ANC provincial executive committee (PEC) in the Eastern
Cape has resolved to recall the Amathole District Municipality Troika made up
of executive mayor Nceba Ndikinda, council speaker Nondumiso Mgidlana and chief
whip Nonceba Mfecane who is a former mayor of Mbhashe Local Municipality.
The news was announced in a short statement released by the
party.
“The Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) of the African
National Congress in the Eastern Cape has resolved to recall the Executive
Mayor, Speaker and Chief Whip of Amathole District Municipality with immediate
effect.”
“The decision has been taken after due considerations and
assessment by the ANC PEC on the challenges faced by the District Municipality.
All affected parties have been duly informed,” read the statement.
The ANC said a reconfigured TROIKA will be announced in due
course after consultation with relevant structures.
“The ANC is committed to bring lasting stability and
progress in both political and administratively in the municipality for a greater
good of the People of Amathole,” the statement concluded.
