A winnwe from the Capital Maskandi Awards, Jabulani Ntombemnyama Nzuza from Mzongwana area in Matatiele, has released a new album titled JB Nzuza.
He said by releasing this album last month, he wanted his supporters to listen to songs that would keep their worries away during the festive season.
He said he had started singing Isicathamiya in 1991 and he grew up listening to maskandi music.
“I used to listen to one of the music icons, Mlindelwa, also known as Nkunze MdakaMralatya, and listening to his songs inspired me to play the guitar.
“Then in 1998 I started doing my demos and submitted to various recording companies in Gauteng but I failed. I signed to a recording company in 2008, and that was when I recorded my first album,” said Nzuza.
He said the title of his first album was Isigqila and it was released in 2012. It was followed by another album that he released the same year, titled Ishumi le minyaka. Then in 2014, he released the third one, titled Umzala.
He said singing this kind of music helped him to share messages about what he sees around him in society.
