Bail application for man accused of KSD traffic officer’s murder to continue next week




The bail
application of a man in custody for alleged murder of King Sabata Dalindyebo
(KSD) Local Municipality traffic officer, Daniel Mxoli, has been postponed yet
again to November 8 and 11, when the court will continue to hear his
application.

Siphesonke
Galoshe (34), a teacher at the Tutor Ndamase Senior Secondary School in
Ngqeleni, is charged with the brazen murder of Mxoli (60) who was shot and killed
while issuing a traffic offence ticket to a motorist at the Mthatha CBD, on
October 10.

Galoshe
appeared before the Mthatha Magistrate’s Court on November 1 and 2 for the
formal bail application but after numerous delays the matter was remanded to
November 8 and 11.

He handed
himself to police on October 10 and made his first court appearance on October
17.

The late
Mxoli was laid to rest in his ancestral home in Ngqeleni on October 23.

The KSD
municipality has previously described the death of Mxoli as a big blow to its
already understaffed Public Safety Department.
