THERE has been a backlog in road repairs due to recent excessive rainfall that occurred last week.
In a Facebook post, the Buffalo City Metro (BCM) stated that they are now able to resume their road repair programme with a series of works scheduled around the city.
“Our teams today, October 25, conducted repairs on the North East Expressway, which is one of the busiest roads in East London, carrying hundreds of cars and trucks daily,” the Facebook post said. “The current road rehabilitation works are intended to prolong the life of the road.”
According to the BCM Facebook post, the following work is being done:
. Milling the road surface
. Laying a bitumen-treated base layer
. Asphalt surfacing
The BCM advised motorists to proceed with caution.
