The members for Pit Bulls Bikers Club and its stakeholders have improved the life of Ntombi Madotyeni (76), who was living in a dilapidated room at Zinduneni location in Ngqeleni, by donating a temporary structure to her.

They also donated groceries, a water tank filled with water and other equipment.

According to the president of Pit Bulls Bikers Club, Thulani Soyamba, they decided to do something for her after they saw how she was struggling.

“After we heard about her problems, we took money from our own pockets, and even contacted our friends from different social platforms who also gave us donations.

“We were so lucky because the members of Lusikisiki VW Club were also interested in joining us. We then managed to raise a sum of R28 000, which we used to purchase all these items,” said Soyama.

He added that the aim of this club is to entertain themselves, but they also like to assist where they can; that is why they took the decision to help Madotyeni.

The chairperson for VW Lusikisiki VW Club, Bulelani Ganyaza, confirmed that they had started a partnership with the Pit Bulls Bikers Club because they noticed that they were doing the same thing.

“We are drivers of VW cars and we started this club because we had one vision of assisting other people. When we heard about this bikers’ club, we decided to do something to assist because (Madotyeni’s) situation was very bad,” said Ganyaza.

Madotyeni said she did not know that her dignity would be restored. She said she was always worried during rainy days because she did not know what would happen to her.

“This is like a dream to me because I never thought my life would change one day.

“I used to go to bed with an empty stomach but today I am smiling like other people.”

Madotyeni was living in a one-roomed, mud structure, which had one side that collapsed in 2018 during a storm. She does not have an identity document, which made the situation worse, as she was unable to get a pension grant.
