The Premier of the Eastern Cape, Oscar
Mabuyane, extend their heartfelt condolences to all families
that were affected by this accident.
“Government is offering emotional, psychological and spiritual
support to those affected,” Mabuyane said.
“The MEC for Transport, Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe, is working with the Department of
Health to ensure that we offer all the necessary services to those who are in
need of support at this time,” he added.
He said people came from
Cape Town to visit their families.
“In this case the road infrastructure
could not be blamed. It’s a solid road infrastructure on the National Road and that is a very high accident zone.
“We don’t
know what really happened. We are awaiting the technical report. For now we are trying to give dignity to
those who have passed away and to give support to those left behind.”
