Emerging businesswoman, Mathoriso Paneng (24), from Mbuqe Extension in Mthatha, is steadily building a name for herself after developing her own body care range, exclusively for women, called Dark Inner Thighs Cream, which she says has been receiving positive reviews from her customers.
Phaneng, a Walter Sisulu University Bachelor of Education: Humanities graduate, has built herself a track record in direct sales, as she started by selling supplements and weight gain products while in her final year at university in 2019.
“My journey in business started in 2019 selling supplements and weight gain products. After that I had a brief stint in the fast-food business, making and selling kotas but that business venture did not go very well and subsequently closed down,” Phaneng said.
“I then started doing online research on things women found unattractive about their bodies and sought to provide a solution to those things to boost their confidence.
“My research revealed that many women suffered from stretch marks and dark inner thighs and were yearning for a product to address, this; hence the birth of my Dark Inner Thighs Cream,” added Phaneng.
She further said the ingredients used in the cream were a combination of products that her research revealed as effective in addressing dark inner thighs in women.
Phaneng also sells Glow Tissue Oil as part of her body care range.
In between running her fledging business, Phaneng also works part time as a tutor, offering English classes at Ngwayibanjwa High School on Fridays and Saturdays.
She said her plan was to grow the business by visiting other towns to present her body care products and establish a network of nationwide distributors.
She currently has direct sales agents who buy her products and sell them in other towns and has been receiving orders from other provinces, such as Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and the Western Cape, because of her social media marketing of the products.
