THE actuarial analyst and chief executive officer (CEO) for We Solve For X Company, Tsietsi Ngobese, has announced that the company plans to build 12 flushing toilets for Mzinto Primary School in KwaBhaca.
He said their aim was to help learners from that school because the school does not have toilets. Ngobese said this was one of the schools they adopted to teach learners and parents maths during weekends for free.
“We started this programme in August and we saw that there was a need for new toilets because the life of the learners is in danger, since they were using toilets that were not in good condition. We have managed to raise R43 000 so far. Our target is R176 952,” said Ngobese.
He added that as soon as they reach their target, they would be able to start building these toilets.
He further said that they had also adopted Mbozeni Primary School and Kwa Shushu Senior Secondary School in KwaBhaca.
The principal for Mzinto Primary School, Zweloxolo Makaula, confirmed that they had used the maintenance budget several times to fix the toilets but that the materials used were no longer in good condition.
“We have fixed them several times but now they need to be demolished and started afresh but the rule of maintenance says we must fix something that is already available, not start from scratch,” said Makaula.
Spokesperson for the Department of Education, Malibongwe Mtima, said the instruction has been sent to the school to utilise the maintenance budget as a stopgap measure until funds were made available.
