The OR Tambo District Municipality says it has dispatched its disaster management teams to go and assess the extent of the damage following a hailstorm that hit three local municipalities under the district authority.
The affected local municipalities are Ingquza Hill, Port St Johns and Nyandeni.
The hailstorm occurred on Friday evening, September 30, according to OR Tambo District Municipality spokesperson Zimkhitha Macingwane.
“Following the inclement weather that affected parts of our district, the disaster management teams have been dispatched to assess the extent of the damage. A preliminary report indicates that three local municipalities, namely Ingquza Hill, Port St Johns and Nyandeni, were affected. The assessment continues,” said Macingwane.
