Eastern Cape police launch manhunt for three cash-in-transit suspects

The East London-based Hawk’s Serious Organised Crime Investigation is seeking the public’s assistance in locating three suspects in connection with cash-in-transit robberies that have been taking place in the province.

According to Eastern Cape Hawks spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, the three suspects have been identified as Thandile Mwahla (41), Thandile Sitwayi (41) and Sibongiseni Mbhele (43).

“Mwahla is believed to be well known in Port St Johns, Sitwayi in East London, Gqeberha and Mthatha, while Mbhele is well known in Butterworth and Mthatha,” said Mgolodela. 

“Anyone who might know their whereabouts can contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Thamsanqa Mlumbi, on 071 481 3009/043 709 0623; alternatively contact the nearest police station. The Crime Stop number 08600 10111 can also be contacted or message 32211. Information received will be treated as confidential.”

Mgolodela added that the public is requested not to approach the suspects on their own as they are deemed dangerous.
