The Chris Hani-based team, Executive Ladies, have successfully defended their Sasol League title in the Inland Stream, with one game remaining in the league.

Executive Ladies have managed to play 13 games this season without a defeat, having won 11 league encounters and drawn two.

The performance has helped Coach Khetho Ngonini’s soldiers to win the Sasol League Inland Stream title in back-to-back seasons, with one game remaining.

In their most recent game, Ngonini’s chargers thrashed Bizana-based Mzamba Ladies 4-0 to make sure they wrapped up the season sitting on top of league table.

Currently, Executive Ladies have 35 points, followed by Ayakha Stars, from Mthatha, with 30 points. Both sides have played the same number of matches and each has one game remaining.

With this point difference, it means Ayakha Stars will not be able to catch the league leaders. In the last round fixtures of the season, Ayakha Stars will host Amanqilo, while Executive Ladies will entertain Eluhewini Ladies. Both games will be played on October 30.

In the Coastal Stream of the Sasol League, things are not clear whether Sophakama Ladies or City Lads will be crowned as champions in the next few weeks, as they are still battling for the top spot.

Currently, Sophakama Ladies occupied top spot with 26 points after 11 games, followed by City Lads with 24 points after nine games.

This Saturday, there is a big clash between the top two sides.

The team that wins over the weekend will increase their chances of winning the Coastal Stream title this season.

The winners of the two streams will play each other on November 20 to determine who the Eastern Cape Sasol League champions will be, who will represent the province in Sasol League National Play-offs.

The two teams who reach the national play-off finals will be promoted to the Women’s National League.
