Film scriptwriter and producer, Onguye Ukumkanikazi Kama-Mpukuse, from New Payne in Mthatha, will be hosting the screening of her film, Ngenxa Yedliso, this month.
This short film was written and produced by herself.
“Most of my ideas come to me through ancestors. I dreamed about this film first and I took only four days to write and produce it. Everything was excellent,” said Kama-Mpukuse.
She added that on the day of the screening, there would also be a live performance by Nick Pagemat and Buhle Nyezi, known as Zigga the Main.
Kama-Mpukuse said she would also perform her five songs, since she is also a singer, and would be releasing her EP on the same day.
“Even though I will be travelling to different places (on tour), I decided to start here at home. That is why this launch is being held here, in Mthatha.”
She was expecting various people from the film industry to support her at this event.
This launch will be held at Vinnie’s Grill Steakhouse in Mthatha on March 13, starting from 15:00 to 18:00. Tickets cost R200 for VIP and R100 for general. Bookings can be made with Kama-Mpukuse on 078 359 5129.
