A finalist in the Mr & Mrs Buffalo City Metro Beauty Pageant 2024, Inga Mkalali (18), said he decided to take part because he wanted a bigger platform that would allow him to be a helping hand to disadvantaged and under-privileged people.
Mkalali is from Esibeni locality in Ngqamakhwe, and a first year Bachelor of Education student at Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha Campus.
He said the finals will take place in East London on November 23, 2024. For charity work, he also bought bread for the under-privileged children in the streets.
Mkalali said that to be a model is not about the glamorous lifestyle and a 30-minute catwalk that they do on stage, it is about being able to be the voice of the voiceless, and to bring change to their communities and the country as whole.
“As someone who advocates for humanity, I visit young people to motivate them, and sometimes cook for those in need. Let us be the change we want to see in our environments,” he said.
Mkalali added that if he can win this pageant he will be a good example to his peers.
He says he wants to send a message to those living in rural areas that they can use these opportunities.
“I am from Esibeni locality in Ngqamakhwe, but I told myself that even though I am coming from the rural areas I will play my part because these competitions open opportunities for us. Even if you are writing your Curriculum Vitae you also include your achievements.”
He is appealing to his supporters to vote for him. A vote is R5. For more info on how to vote for Mkalali in Mr Buffalo City Metro Beauty Pageant 2024, contact him on 067 498 0449.
