Mayor for Umzimvubu Local Municipality, Councillor Zukiswa Ndevu, is saddened by the untimely death of yet another former mayor, the late councillor Mzilikazi Elliot Ncapai.
He passed away in his home on April 9, after he succumbed to a short illness.
His funeral will take place at the Ncapai residence in Qanqu Village, KwaBhaca, on Saturday, April 23.
The programme will commence at 08:00.
“During his term in council, he worked tirelessly to ensure that all residents had equal access to basic service delivery. He will be remembered for his utmost humility and transparent leadership during his time with the institution.
“Those who remembered him alluded to his resilience in the fight against inequality,” said Ndevu.
She added that, on behalf of Umzimvubu Local Municipality, she extended her sincere condolences to the Ncapai family. “May the Lord grant them strength to overcome this great loss. Our thoughts remain with them.”
