THE Umzimvubu Local Municipality has learnt with shock of the passing of the former mayor, Councillor Kulukazi Pangwa.
She passed away just a week after the passing of another former mayor of the municipality, Joseph Munyu.
According to the Mayor of this Municipality, Councillor Sobane Mnukwa, Pangwa, was the third mayor of this municipality. He said that, during her term in council, she worked tirelessly to ensure that all residents had equal access to basic service delivery.
“She would be remembered for her utmost humility and transparent leadership during her time with the institution. The passing of this leader comes at a time when our country is in mourning.
“On behalf of the community of Umzimvubu, please allow me to extend my sincere condolences to the Pangwa family,” said Mnukwa.
He said he prayed that the family would be granted strength to overcome this great loss.
