EmaXesibeni (formerly Mount Ayliff) based Ntsizwa High School teacher (26) appeared before the EmaXesibeni Magistrate’s Court today, October 27, facing two charges of rape.
The rape incidents allegedly occurred at the school’s premises where both alleged victims are schooling.
“It is alleged that between May and June this year, the accused had sexual intercourse with two Grade 12 learners aged 18 and 19 years without their consent inside the school’s strongroom on different occasions.”
“He would allegedly lure the victims to the strong room, lock it from the inside, overpower them, rape them and them not to tell anyone,”said National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Luxolo Tyali.
Both learners informed their classmates after the alleged offences, but the accused was only arrested on October 25 after the victims reported the sexual assault to their parents. It was discovered that both learners are pregnant.
The case has been postponed to November 4 for a formal bail application.
