Members from Imbumba Foundation donated a year’s supply of sanitary products to six schools in the Mpondo Kingdom in the interest of helping learners.
The schools which benefited from this initiative were Mncwati Senior Secondary School, Mount Zion Primary School, Thandabantu Primary School in Mbizana, Dumezweni Senior Secondary School and Ntsikayezwe Senior Secondary School in Ntabankulu.
According to the founder of the South African Royal Princesses Network, Princess Stella Sigcau II, she reached out in 2021 to Imbumba Foundation chief executive officer, Richard Mabaso, requesting donations to schools in the Mpondo Kingdoms.
“This served as a follow up from that commitment and promise they made after distributing to schools in the Mpondo Kingdom in 2021. I started working with the youth, including youth empowerment, back in 2007 to contribute to the empowerment of schools and youth in the Mpondo Kingdom,” said Sigcau.
She said selected schools also received a donation of books through the Khuthaza Ukufunda Project. These initiatives included training on computer literacy and 4IR, workshops at schools on child abuse, GBV, child trafficking, and dealing with trauma.
Sigcau confirmed that the maidens would also be equipped in this regard during the Mpondo Reed Dance that would be held on September 10, preceding the Mpondo Culture Heritage Festival at Lwandlolubomvu Great Place in Ntabankulu.
