Hip-Hop turned Afropop musician, Inga Mfono, has gone back to the music genre that introduced him to his fans with the release of his 10-track hip-hop album, Nantso Ke.
The album was officially released on October 1 and is currently available on music download and streaming platforms.
Nantso Ke, Inga said, was his farewell to the hip-hop genre, as he will be focusing on releasing Afropop music only after this album.
“I decided to do a hip-hop project because I used to be a rapper and this album is basically an ‘outro’ for me in the hip-hop genre.
“I am now pursuing my vocal side and will be focusing on Inga as an Afropop brand and I felt like I should actually leave my fans with something to listen to and remind them of where my music journey started,” Mfono said.
The album features several independent hip-hop artists, such as Bhut’Legend, Ashley, Brian, Lutho, Sisanda and Brother Luke. Mfono said these were artists he had wanted to collaborate with for some time.
Mfono, from Mandela Park in Mthatha, is currently signed to the Johannesburg-based record label, Wisdom Entertainment, where he will be pursuing his music career as an Afropop artist. He produced his hip-hop offering entirely by himself.
