Kentane United FC, from Centane, is expected to represent the Amathole region in the provincial ABC Motsepe League promotion play-offs which will be played in the next few weeks.

This follows after Amathole East SAB League champions; Kentane United has won the SAFA Amathole positional play-offs at the Komga sports ground over the weekend.

To qualify for the provincial ABC Motsepe League promotion play-offs, the Centane team defeated the on-form Fort Hare University FC by 2–1 in the deciding game.

Member of Kentane United FC, Dr Lungile Zamxaka, has praised his team for doing well during the play-offs and also congratulated the technical team for a job well done.

“We are happy that we have managed to qualify for the provincial ABC Motsepe League promotion play-offs and we are hoping the boys will keep working hard,” said Dr Zamxaka.

He said last time they failed to qualify for the SAFA Amathole positional play-offs, as their neighbours, Musketeers FC, were the winners in their Amathole East SAB League.

But this season they managed to qualify and now they are looking forward to competing in the provincial ABC Motsepe League promotion play-offs.

They also are hoping that their players will take this opportunity to be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League, as they have a lot of potential and talent.

SAFA are yet to announce the date and the venue of provincial ABC Motsepe League play-offs.
