TheKing Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Municipality has promised that upcoming developments will unlock more business opportunities for local businesses.
This was the message the municipality conveyed to local business owners during a business engagement session, hosted by outgoing Executive Mayor, Nyaniso Nelani, at the Savoy Hotel on October 13.
The session saw KSD municipal executives make presentations to local business formations on upcoming developments within the municipal boundary, which will unlock business opportunities for local business owners.
Some of the mega projects include the development of a logistic hub in Viedgesville, the Wild Coast Special Economic Zone, near the Mthatha Airport, and the motoring hub that is envisaged at the Khaya Majola Cricket Oval in Norwood.
Nelani also used the business engagement session to thank the local business fraternity for their support and cooperation with the outgoing municipal council.
“With you [the business fraternity], we have managed to turn around the negative picture that bedevilled us, wherein we were labelled as the filthiest city.
“You have joined us in several programmes including clean-up campaigns, as well as the adoption of streets by businesses to clean on a regular basis and for that we are grateful, as the outgoing council,” Nelani said.
Business formations were also implored to be united and speak with one voice, and to do away with parallel formations claiming to be representing the interests of local businesses.
