A WELL-KNOWN Mthatha-based music producer, Lutho Ruba, better known as DJ Tyson, is currently working on an album titled The Journey of Two Titans, which will be released in September or October.

He is a producer and DJ of gqom, house and amapiano music. He confirmed that he is working as part of a duo with Oko Ndima, better known as Aux DrumBoss, from Cuba Township in Butterworth. He said, at the moment, he is not sure, due to lockdown regulations, when the official release date will be as they were planning to do a tour before the release of the album.

“We are planning to visit clubs from at least 10 different cities. This album would cater for different genres, including gqom, amapiano and house. One of the best-known artists that we have managed to feature is Olothando Ndamase, the vocalist behind Inyembezi Zika Gogo featuring Master Dee, and we also feature Vee Sholo, the vocalist behind Siphulaphule Thixo featuring Butho Vuthela,” said Ruba.

He said it was a great pleasure for them to work with these national artists, as they had worked very hard to be where they were today. He also confirmed that they were celebrating their achievement of being nominated for the Live Your Dreams Youth Awards in Durban, where they were up for Best Upcoming Artist.

“Voting lines will be opened on September 1 and we urge all the people from Eastern Cape to vote for us. We urge you to help us bring this award home, as we all know that we have worked very hard for it.”
