A GRADE 10 learner, Olwam Ndlovu (17), from East London, has been crowned as the “Face of Devotion” Miss Eastern Cape 2021 brand ambassador, who will speak out against gender-based violence (GBV).
This beauty pageant was hosted at Alexander Playhouse Theatre in East London, recently.
Ndlovu said she said it was through hard work and dedication that led to her winning the title.
“My mother has been my number one supporter throughout,” Ndlovu said.
“She has been there to support me in every way, and I am grateful.
“She is still supporting me as I am preparing to represent Eastern Cape at the “Face of Devotion Mzantsi”, which will be taking place on December 11, Johannesburg,” she said.
She said it was her time competing in a pageant and it had taught her many things, such as commitment and discipline.
Ndlovu said that when she was announced as the winner, she was shocked but happy, because her hard work had finally paid off.
