Commissioner, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu has conveyed his shock following the
recent vicious vigilante attack after a 32-year-old man’s burnt body was found
in a forest.
According to police spokesperson
Captain Siphokazi Mawisa, the man was allegedly tied up with rope at a
community meeting held at Komkhulu Location in Centane.
“It is alleged that when the
deceased’s brother went to search for him and investigate what was happening,
he was chased away by community members. “Later on, the deceased body was found
torched and dumped in a nearby forest,” said Mawisa.
A murder investigation has been
opened and no arrests have been made. Meanwhile, Mawisa said the circumstances
surrounding the incident form part of the investigation.
