Police are investigating a case of murder after a shooting incident on February 25 at 19:59 in Lusikisiki.
According to Sergeant Kaya Matola-Mvanyashe, police spokesperson, officials rushed to the scene at France locality Mzintlava A/A after community members informed them of a shooting.
“Upon arrival police were told that a 39-year-old man was shot by an unknown assailant/s when he was about to enter his home. He was conveyed to hospital by private transport,” Matola-Mvanyashe said.
The police went to the hospital to visit the victim for further investigation, but they were told that the deceased succumbed to his injuries on his arrival at hospital.
“The deceased sustained many bullet wounds all over his body. The motive for murder is not known, but a taxi-related feud cannot be ruled out as the deceased was also a member of Lusikisiki Border Alliance, it is alleged.
“Many cartridges were confiscated on the scene.”
The suspect/s are not known and no arrest have been made.
