THE Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Blade Ndzimande, and the department’s partners, launched a state-of-the-art science centre in Cofimvaba, last week.

It has been named after liberation icon, Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu.

Ndzimande was accompanied by the Premier of the Eastern Cape, Oscar Mabuyane, and MEC for Education, Fundile Gade.

A collaboration with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and the Eastern Cape Department of Education (ECDoE), the centre promotes science, technology and innovation through every feature of its building.

Ndzimande said what was even more uplifting was the fact that they had celebrated the completion of this science centre in the rural community of Cofimvaba. “The centre took us five years to complete. We indeed turned our dream into a plan and then into a reality.”
