A YOUNG model from Zixambuzi location in Ngqeleni will be one of the contestants who will take part in the Miss Indoni Cultural South Africa.
This event will be held in Durban in December this year (the official date has not been confirmed yet).
Anathi Gosa (21) is doing her second year of her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Free State.
“The aim of Indoni is to bring back the dignity of Africans, and that had helped me a lot because now I know my background and I respect myself,” said Gosa.
She added that it helped young people because it taught them how they should behave.
She said it also taught them about the dangers of using drugs.
Gosa said Miss Indoni helped her because she now knew how to share the knowledge she had with other people. She planned to help young girls by teaching them how to behave and show respect.
“I am proud to be who I am and of my language.
“Most of the time people confuse Isimpondo with IsiXhosa. As a girl from the Mpondo nation, I will be representing Amampondo ase Nyandeni in this event and showing people our lifestyle,” said Gosa.
