While other
parents wake up and prepare for their children for school, Lungisa Kohli (29)
from Mdikane locality in Lusikisiki, wakes up hoping that she will see her son
again.

Kohli’s son,
Wongile Oluchuku Kohli (6) went missing on the night of October 16 while
he was sleeping in a separate bedroom from his mother.

“I lost him
in a strange way because I was also at home when the incident happened, but I
did not notice anything. That evening I took tablets for my headache, went to
sleep, and woke up in the middle of the night only to be surprised that the
main door was opened,” said the mother.

She added
that upon investigation following the discovery of an opened door, she went
into the children’s bedroom to find that her son was missing.

“I woke up
my 10-year-old nephew and asked him where my son is, and he said that he didn’t
know. He did however indicate that heard a male knocking and pushing the door.

Kohli further
said that her nephew alleged that the perpetrator knocked on her bedroom door
and found it locked.

“I do not
lock my bedroom, even on this night it was not locked. So, this is confusing.”

Police
spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni confirmed the incident and appeals for the
community to assist them in locating the missing child.

‘Anyone who
can assist with information on Wongile’s whereabouts can contact Captain Swake
at 083 364 6126 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” said Mdleleni.
