Mthatha K9 unit is appealing to the community to assist them in finding their four legged K9 colleague, Dora who ran off on Monday, 22 August.

According to Sergeant Kaya Matola-Mvanyashe, police spokesperson, it is alleged that at about 18:00 on the mentioned date, as her kennel door was opened to be fed, she ran out.

“Her handler was not present at the time. Dora is a very energetic dog.

“The continuous search for her proved negative at this stage. Dora has only been at the unit for a month. She was transferred from Maluti and is new to the area,” said Matola-Mvanyashe.

She is a 6-year-old Belgian Shepherd.

Anyone who can assist her worried colleagues in finding her or may have spotted a similar looking dog in the vicinity is asked to urgently contact Capt Gladstone Mkentane on 082 457 3643 or her handler Constable Siphamadla Nyameka on 071 895 0596.
