Mthatha police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder following an alleged shooting that left one woman dead and another injured on August 26, 2022.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, police were summoned to a complaint of a shooting at a house in Callaway township, upon arrival at the scene police discovered a lifeless body of an unidentified woman with a gunshot wound in the upper body.
“The second victim also sustained a wound in the upper body and was rushed to hospital for medical attention. The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown at this stage,” said Nkohli.
He added that no arrests have been made yet. Police are urging anyone with information that can assist in the investigation to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
