This weekend, Sinenkani FC from Bizana will turn their focus to the Nedbank Cup competition last 16, after they drew 1-1 against on form AmaMpondo United FC, in a league encounter, at eMaxesibeni sport ground over the weekend.
The weekend results have helped Sinenkani FC claim the top spot in the ABC Motsepe League EC Stream B table, as they now have 28 points from 13 games, followed by BCM Stars with 27 points from 12 games.
With these results, it means the battle for top spot in ABC Motsepe League EC Stream B will continue in the few remaining league encounters, and even AmaMpondo United FC still have a chance to fight for finishing on top, as they have 25 points from 13 games.
However, this weekend, the league leaders will change their focus to the Nedbank Cup last 16, where they will host GladAfrica Championship Division side, Tshakhuma FC, at the Mthatha Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Over the weekend, team management, led by club chairperson, Nathi Nqoko, team players and Alfred Nzo District Municipality members held a prayer session at Bizana Youth Centre to pray for a victory for Sinenkani FC in Nedbank Cup competition and the league title.
During the prayer meeting, team management said they were confident that they would do well when they face Tshakhuma FC from Limpopo.
Nqoko said their target was to make the Eastern Cape and Sinenkani FC supporters happy by progressing to the next stage of the competition.
The team also confirmed that all their preparations had gone well and the Mthatha Stadium was ready for the weekend action.
