Thabang Malaza (20) from Dutyini locality Mount Ayliff, but residing in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng, has a creative streak and a head full of dreams.

This young, multi-talented writer and singer, has turned his hobby into a way of earning money.

He said that despite the challenges of growing up in rural areas of Mount Ayliff, he decided to chase his dream.

Armed with only a cellphone and a few ideas, he started writing and filming short stories.

I host a YouTube channel that has steadily reached the prescribed milestones for monetisation. I even released my music sound tracks digitally; it’s actually an EP called The Sinner. A certificate confirming that I have achieved 100 000 views establishes that the published content is entertaining and thought-provoking enough to captivate many.

He added that his short film titled Intlupheko Lusizi was featured on Star-sat TV channel 504.

According to him, the entertainment business can be a hard nut to crack, especially if someone does not live in the hub of the industry.

Malaza added that many who fight for their dreams of success through their natural talents face an uphill battle.

According to him, he is positioning himself as being multi-skilled.

“I apply myself to practise modelling, singing, presenting, screenwriting, filming, directing and acting to pursue my dream of finding success as an entertainer.

“My community praises me for being a good role model and admires my drive and determination.”
