The wife of murdered police officer, W.O. Kolile Kulu, and her co-accused briefly appeared before the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court today in connection with the murder of her husband at his home on August 31.
Boniswa Cima Kulu (43) appeared in court together with co-accused Ntando Ngwane (34), Luntu Sonamzi (39), Nomandla Papiyana (34), Khaya Gazi (49) and Nkululeko Matiwane (41).
Their case was postponed to October 13, 2021 for formal bail application.
According to the Spokesperson for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks), Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, the accused were remanded in custody.
“The deceased was asleep at his home in Butterworth when he was killed by three unknown men who reportedly have also taken his official firearm,” said Mgolodela.
She said all three purported hitmen and other two alleged to have been involved were arrested.
“The wife of the deceased was arrested and charged for the murder and detained at a Police Station in Butterworth.”
