MASKANDI musician, Thobuncedo Qumbelo, from Magutywa location in Tsolo, entertained his audience by debuting his new songs at the Heritage Festival that was held at Ngolo location in Mthatha, recently.

Qumbelo is the founder of the Jika Sibhekane Traditional Group.

He released his first album in 2012, titled Abantwana Bam, which consists of 10 songs.

“I released another album in 2019, titled Amakholwa. It was followed by another one, titled Ndishuteni. Performing at this festival has given me an opportunity to share the stage with well-known groups, such as Amageza mahle and Bahubhe,” said Qumbelo.

He said although he comes from Tsolo, the reception he received in Mthatha has shown him that his music can be appreciated in other towns and cities.

“Sharing stage with other artistes boosts your confidence,” he said.
