Gospel musicians from the Eastern Cape hosted a revival concert at Butterworth Christian Church (BCC) at the weekend.

One of the performers, Gcinikhaya Vele, stated that they had hosted this concert to uplift the spirits of Christians, since some of them were no longer interested in going to church after the lockdown, due to COVID-19.

He added that they were preparing for another on live recording concert with Ingonyama Music, which would be held in Durban on May 14.

“We made a live recording with Siyanda Dyonase last year that was very successful. We then decided to host this concert.

“We know that people are coming from lockdown and some are no longer interested in going to their churches, but we believe that, after this concert, there will be a change,” said Vele.

He added that there were almost 10 music acts who participated in this concert, including well-known gospel singer, Sipho Ngwenya.

Vele collaborated with Ngwenya on his two songs, titled Imvuselelo and I am a Soldier.
