Prince Ndamase, the assistant director and actor from the drama, Ingozi inobungozi, has announced the launch of a new drama series, Ingozi inobunguzi (promises and lies), which began airing last month in the Mthatha West area of Mthatha.
The drama’s executive producer, Daniel Carlvin Matshasi, not only oversees production but also stars as one of the lead actors. Ndamase revealed that the drama was made available on the Son of Africa Productions YouTube channel just last week.
The narrative unfolds entirely within the Mthatha West region, specifically encompassing Slovo Park and Mandela Park. Ndamase explained that the drama aims at exploring the complexities of social relationships, with a particular focus on romantic interactions.
“Our goal was to shed light on the risks associated with trust in romantic relationships. Given the significant attention love receives in the 21st century, we believed it was important to both entertain and educate our audience through a love story,” Ndamase stated.
He further mentioned that the storyline was inspired by real-life observations of how love is often manipulated as a means to achieve personal goals, rather than being an expression of genuine affection between individuals.
