AN NPO called Movement for Change, based in Mtembele Village at Ngqamakhwe, is inviting soccer, volleyball and netball teams to be part of the annual Mtembele Heritage Sport Development Tournament, which will be held on the September 24 and 25.

The main aim of the tournament is to celebrate heritage month and also contribute to sport development. especially in the rural areas.

During the event, there will be guest speakers from different sectors who will motivate youth about education and other important matters in life.

East London IDZ business streamlined officials are expected to be among the people who will attend the tournament as they will sponsor balls, kit and trophies.

Teams who are interested in being a part of the event need to contact event organiser, Luyanda Mgweba, at 073 335 5074 or Luxolo Ngcuthushe at 072 795 1359.

The registration fee for a team who would like to participate in soccer is R500, while netball is R200, and volleyball is R200.

The teams who do well during the event in their sporting codes will go home with brand new kit, gold medals and balls.

Event organisers have announced that on September 11, at Mtembele United FC sports grounds, they will have a draw of the teams who will compete in the tournament, starting on September 24, and they promised to follow all rules and regulations for COVID-19.
