Libode police are investigating a case five attempted murders following a shooting incident in Libode yesterday, November 10.
According to police reports, the five injured men were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are
receiving medical attention. Police spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi
Kinana confirmed that the shooting took place along the R61 between Libode
and Mthatha.
He said police had been deployed and are patrolling and
monitoring the area, adding that at this stage they could not confirm if
the incident is taxi violence related.
“Five cases of attempted murders
have been opened for investigation. No arrest has been effected yet.
Investigation continues and circumstances surrounding the incident form part of
the investigation,” Kinana said.
