Police in Lusikisiki are investigating two murder cases after an alleged mentally disturbed man is suspected of killing two men aged 35 and 36 on Saturday, January 27.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Welile Matyolo, it is alleged that police were alerted of the double murder and on arrival community members had already apprehended the suspect.
“The first victim is alleged to be the brother of the suspect who was murdered first by a bush knife and a knobkerrie.
“The second victim is a neighbour who went to the homestead to investigate the commotion and was also brutally killed by the suspect,” said Matyolo.
Matyolo added that he is suspected to be mentally disturbed and the motive for the killings is not known at this moment.
According to Matyolo he has been arrested and all medical examination processes will be followed in due course.
