A radio presenter and news reader from Sajonisi Youth Radio (SYR) in Port St Johns has appealed to young people to celebrate Youth Month in a different way by keeping themselves busy while they are waiting for job opportunities. Nosihle Mvundlela, from Etwa in Qumbu, said young people should try all angles to look for opportunities they could use to chase poverty away.
“They should use all the opportunities that appear, while each chance that you get you must make sure that you use it in a positive way. Let us stand up and be like the youth of 1976 and let our voices be heard,” said Mvundlela.
She urged youth to stand up and take part in the fight against gender-based violence, which is increasing all the time in this country. Discussing her career, Mvundlela said ever since she was young, she wanted to be a presenter.
“Even though I wanted to be a newsreader on TV, I was very happy when I was granted an opportunity by SYR to show my talent.”
