THE Department of Education MEC, Fundile Gade, sent condolences to the bereaved family of the late Eastern Cape Advisory Council (ECEAC) chairperson, Professor Mlungisleli Jadezweni, who passed on April 20.
Jadezweni died after a short illness at Beacon Bay Hospital in East London, and will be laid to rest at his home at Macosa locality in Mqanduli this Saturday, May 4.
Gade said that the sector will miss Jadezweni’s subtle and robust contribution in driving the transformation of education, across the country.
“His vast experience and passion for education led to his election as the council’s chairperson, a position he served with distinction from 2009 until his passing. Prof, as the late Jadwezeni was affectionately known, also served as the chairperson of the Provincial Quality Teaching and Learning Campaign, since the launch of the QTLC in 20212,” said Gade.
He added that the sector extends its sincere condolences to Jadezweni’s wife and the entire Jadezweni family and friends. “We hope they find solace and strength from the Almighty, during this difficult time of their lives. We shall forever cherish the contribution of this gallant activist, to the end.”
