Respected traditional leader Nkosi Ngangomhlaba Matanzima of Western Tembu clan has died after a long illness.
The news of Matanzima’s passing was confirmed in a statement issued by the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Leaders (ECHTL).
Matanzima died earlier this morning, February 22.
He was the founding member of the ECHTL and also served as its chairperson for years.
He also served as the Eastern Cape chairperson of the Moral Regeneration Movement, a position he held until his death.
Funeral arrangements were not yet confirmed.
