The chairperson of the Rivonia Circle, Songezo Zibi, launched his second book, titled, Manifesto, at Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha, last week.
He started writing this non-fiction book in 2020 and finished it last year. Zibi is from Khohlo location in Mqanduli.
His first book was titled, Raising the Bar Hope & Renewal of South Africa.
He said this book would open the minds of the people to know that they could choose leaders from their own locations to represent them in parliament.
Zibi said if that could be done, it would be easier for community members to raise their concerns because that elected representative would know about the challenges they are facing.
“If we have our own person who is representing us, it would be easy for us even to raise questions when we want clarity. When I was about to write this book, I looked at all the things that are not working properly in our country and came with the solution. By choosing our own leaders, we will then know that the political parties belong to us,” said Zibi. He said when someone is writing a book he becomes lonely but he was so lucky because he had some people who also advised him along the way.
The book is available nationwide in bookstores and costs R330.
