THE new champions of the ABC Motsepe League Eastern Cape Stream A, SA Spear of the Nation FC, are continuing their impressive run in the division, even though they have already won stream with a few games remaining.

Over the weekend, Bizana team, Spear of the Nation FC, continued to collect maximum points when they defeated Sibiya All Stars FC, 1-0 away at Walter Sisulu University sports ground in Butterworth.

Nation FC came into the weekend clash aiming at avoiding the defeat, as they were looking to wrap up the season without suffering a defeat.

Luckily, Stream A’s new champions were equal to the task, as they managed to attack the home side from the start of the game and they created numerous chances but they failed to convert them into goals, as they won 1-0.

All Stars FC, who are currently fifth on the league table, tried their best to attack the visitors but their defence and goalkeeper was solid, as they managed to keep a clean sheet.

With the weekend results, it means Nation FC have played 14 league games, won 13 of them and drawn only one, and they having 40 points, followed by Bizana Pondo Chiefs with 27 points.

Most Stream A teams have two games remaining, while two teams have one fixture remaining before they wrap up their season.

This weekend, Bizana Pondo Chiefs will host Amavarara FC; Bush Bucks FC will entertain Bisho Stars FC in the relegation zone battle;, Sibiya All Stars will visit Highbury FC and Seven Stars FC will host Stream B winners, Spear of the Nation FC. All games will be played on Saturday, March 19.
