Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League champions, SA Spear of the Nation FC, are finalising their preparations for the National ABC Motsepe League promotion play-offs, which will be held in the North West next week.
This follows after Bizana-based team managed to beat the Gqeberha-based team, BCM Stars, in a two-leg fixture last month.
Spear of the Nation FC won both legs with a 3-1 aggregate, as in the first leg, they won 1-0 and in the second leg, they won 2-1.
After the game, the Bizana team were presented with a trophy for becoming Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League champions for this season and they also got an opportunity to represent the province in the national ABC Motsepe League promotion play-offs.
Team media officer, Lonwabo Dindi, said their preparations were going well and their players would be ready to compete when the event starts next week.
“We have some few minor injuries in our team, but we are hoping all our players will be ready for the national play-offs,” said Dindi.
He said that they were going to the national play-offs aiming at gaining promotion to the GladAfrica Champions division but, at the same time, they knew very well it would not be an easy task.
In conclusion, they were hoping that they would make the Eastern Cape proud.
The expected date for the play-offs is June 13, but the South Africa Football Association (SAFA) will make an official announcement this week when they conduct a draw in Gauteng.
