SASOL League Inland Stream women’s soccer fixtures are expected to resume this weekend, after the teams had a break during the past weekend.
But this week, all teams in the division are back in business, preparing for their league fixtures, which will take place this weekend in different sports grounds around the former Transkei area.
The current log leaders and defending champions, Executive Ladies, will be expected to continue with their impressive run when they host bottom side, Amanqilo Birds, at the Ntabankulu sports ground on Saturday afternoon.
This clash is important because Chris Hani-based Executive Ladies will be aiming at increasing their points tally from 25 to 28 points, so that they can keep or extend their five-point lead over second-placed Ayakha Stars.
Meanwhile Amanqilo Birds would be aiming at improving their position by collecting maximum points and moving off the bottom of the table.
In other fixtures, Ayakha Stars would be expected to continue putting more pressure on the log leaders, when they visit Cumakala FC, in a highly anticipated league clash.
Ayakha Stars are in second place with 20 points and Cumakala FC occupy third place with 11 points. All the teams in the division have played nine games and have five more games remaining before the end of the season.
Other fixtures for this weekend include Eastern Rangers hosting Red Roses Ladies and Mzamba Ladies’ FC visiting Eluhewini Ladies.
All these fixtures will take place this Saturday.
