After a whole week’s rest, the Sasol League Inland Stream teams are expected to return in action this weekend, and the league leaders, Executive Ladies, from the Ntabankulu area, will be looking forward to maintaining their unbeaten run since the season started.

However, title chasers, Eluhewini Ladies’ FC from Ngcobo, will be aiming at closing the seven points gap between them and the top spot side.

In their previous encounter, Eluhewini Ladies’ FC’s plan was disturbed by Ayakha Stars from Mthatha when they lost 4-2 at home.

That match result had a negative impact in the plan of the Ngcobo team who are trying to reshuffle defending champions, Executive Ladies, at the top of the league table.

Currently, the Ntabankulu team is leading Sasol League Inland Stream table by 19 points in seven games followed by Eluhewini Ladies’ FC with 12 points in six games.

In third place is Ayakha Stars with 10 points after five games.

Those three top teams have better opportunities to compete for the championship considering their experience in the division. But it looks like even newcomers, Coastal United Ladies’ FC, are showing some signs of contention for the title as they are sitting in fourth place with nine points after six games.

This weekend’s fixtures are fascinating as all top teams would be gunning for maximum points to keep the title races alive.

On Saturday, Ayakha Stars will be travelling to bottom side, Amanqilo Birds; Coastal United Ladies’ FC will enter another bottom side, Mzamba Ladies, away; Executive Ladies will host off form Cumakala Ladies while Eluhewini Ladies will entertain the mid–table side, Eastern Rangers, at home. All these fixtures are important to every team, as the league is approaching its final stages.
