Tsolo Police are investigating a case of murder after a learner (14) was stabbed to death by another pupil (14) at the Tsolo Residence Primary School yesterday.
Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, said it is alleged that a boy came running to a teacher saying he had been stabbed with a scissor by another pupil.
“He was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Kinana.
He added that the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.
He confirmed that no arrest has been made. “The other minor has been placed in the care of his parents.”
The National Organisational Developers for Congress of South African Students (COSAS) spokesperson, Sichumile Plaatjie, confirmed that they will host a meeting with the stakeholders at this school today.
“As members of COSAS we are very sad of what transpired in this school where learners stabbed each other, which resulted in the death of another learner,” said Plaatjie.
Education Spokesperson, Malibongwe Mtima, confirmed that they are aware of the incident.
“We will issue a statement as soon as we get all the information,” said Mtima.
